The best way to view the models is by downloading the Hypercosm Player in 3D Models. However, if you don't want to install the player, have experienced problems with the software, or have incompatible hardware, operating system or browser, you can view the models in Google Earth. You will need to download and install the Google Earth application (which is not browser specific).

Click here to download Google Earth views of Stonehenge as it is and as it would have appeared originally. Once you have unzipped the contents of the file simply open one of the .kmz files to view the models in Google Earth.

The models have not been drawn on the Google Earth terrain (yet!) so some stones may appear to float above the surface. To see the models in full you can turn off Terrain in the Layers submenu of the Google Earth sidebar. Note that the aerial view of Stonehenge has not been taken directly overhead, so it is impossible to position the models precisely according to the Ordnance Survey map of the site.

You can also see an approximation of the current summer solstice sunrise (midsummer) in the present day model.
